After 50(ish) years of trying to polish my nails at home with the same result; (paint my nails at night, take a shower the next morning, and the polish on the tips of my nails was all chipped off), I finally found the answer-- OPI! I have many ridges and imperfections in my natural nails (due to prior salon mishandling). the ridge filler smoothed my nails out completely and provided a perfect base for polish. I used the Skip Chip first and top coat and almost a week later, I still have an awesome manicure. I'm so impressed. I will never use anything else except OPI. I like the products so much I ordered more colors and some cuticle oil. LOVE LOVE LOVE OPI.

This is the best item to have in your nail polish collection! It helps prep the nail bed against chipping! I had a salon manicure done, and the lady used this on my nails and it helped the polish stay on longer~

As far as i have understood, the aim of this is to remove all grease etc from your nails, before applying the polish, so that the polish can better stick to the nail.

I have tried without a base coat, and the polish chipped in couple of days.

I tried with a base coat (by Inglot), and it took couple days more.

Overall, not sure if i am applying this correctly, but it does not seem that magical to me..
