I don't feel that this base coat helps the polish stay on any better than if you do not use a base coat. I also notice that when I use this product it is hard to get the polish to stay on without streaking off. I have to apply several coats and by that time it is clumpy and looks terrible. I love Essie products but I really don't like this stuff!

Without a base coat, my Essie nail polish usually starts chipping within a few days. With this base coat, it did last longer, but still chipped within a week. I expected to last longer than that, but I guess it's still better than nothing.

I have been searching forever for a good base coat, especially because at my job, all I do is type. I love Essie nail polish so it was only natural that I try the base coat. I use this as a base coat and then Revlon's top coat and I noticed my nails staying chip free for at least 4 days. If i didn't type all day they would probably last even longer.
