This product is perfect as an adjunct to Shellac...providing extra smoothness and strength. But it can also be used alone or with regular nail polish. I am a DIY user and found it easy to apply and remove, especially after watching YouTube videos. I have not had it long enough to testify about duration, but my mother reports that her salon application of Brisa Lite has lasted the full 3 weeks.

I'm giving this two stars because, while the product did work, it didn't work like needed for me. I have very brittle nails, and have been using CND Shellac polish for a year and a half now to stellar results. I was very excited about this product when I first heard about it, figuring it's CND and made to be used with the Shellac...it MUST work better than the polish does. WRONG! After spending a lot of money on this kit, and using as directed, I noticed a LOT of breaking and splitting that I haven't had since the days of wearing regular polish. I'd get the stress cracks along the sides, and would have to use glue to repair my natural nails, then reapply the gel. After three or four applications, I finally tired of the extra steps, with the extra breakage, and decided to go back to just using the Shellac by itself. My nails are back to being, looking, and feeling healthy. I won't be using this product again.
