I bought these on a bit of a whim. I've been randomly into glitter polish lately, though having an all-glitter polish, especially a thicker one, can be a HUGE pain to remove if it covers the entire nail.
Seriously, huge pain.
So this was a nice compromise, though fair warning, it doesn't look like the picture. The first layer is too "gold" and not enough "white", though that really doesn't take away from the effect, and you could undoubtedly mix and match another shiny polish underneath.
The polish is actually fairly simple to apply. The bottles are labeled in the order that they should be put on, and there's even an explanation sheet with pictures. The first layer is supposed to be applied twice, and completely dry before the second, which I found can be tricky. It doesn't dry as quickly as you'd think, so I just apply one coat, since it really doesn't change the effect, and it dries much faster. I also discovered that applying the polish too thickly is not a good idea, because it NEVER seems to dry if you don't apply pretty thin layers.
The layering look takes a bit of practice, just because there's a balance between how much of the nail you cover with the last two coats. Generally, it's not too tricky, but getting the right thickness and length down the nail is the hardest part; mostly it just takes a lot of attention to details and shape (like following the curve of the nail instead of going straight across). Once it's applied, though, the look is pretty spiffy. It also lasts for a decent amount of time (mine hung on for about a week and a half before it started to peel off) though if you wash your hands often enough, it won't hold up, just like any other polish.
I think the one thing about the layering, though I suppose it would happen with any layering effect, is the length of time it takes to dry. You really have to make sure that each layer is COMPLETELY dry before applying the next, otherwise none of them tend to stick, and they can rub off easily within the first few hours after applying. I would suggest that you have at least two hours where you're not going to be doing things that could rub the polish off, because it really needs quite a bit of time to set properly.
I'd definitely recommend it, though. The effect is fun, yet it's also pretty classy. It's easy enough to get a good look, and decently easy off (for a glitter polish, anyway).
