The black shatter really works. it looks awesome and different. It starts to crackle right after applying and dries fast. It definitely needs a clear top coat. the shatter comes out very matte and the top coat will give it a nice shine and protect it from chipping. The other colors are really funky and work really well with the shatter. All in all great product. I love O.P.I.

The polishes are beautiful colors in the picture. The lighter colors are very difficult to see under the black shatter. The blue does not come out like the picture shown... I had to use 4 coats to even come close. I used a base color of the same color glitter, apply the glitter, then the black to get better effect. Layering takes more work and time. Make note that the only shatter color is the black. If you apply the black shatter on thin/regular, it resembles small lacy lines. If the black shatter is applied thick, it comes our heavier and looks more like blocks.

Initially I got this set because I really wanted the black shatter, but I quickly fell in love with the other colors. Say what you want about Katy Perry but her nail polish rocks.

I do suggest putting on a good base coat before wearing either of the glitter polishes. And if you want to make removing it super easy put nail polish remover on a cotton ball/pad, put that on your nail and then wrap your finger in aluminum foil. Then sit there looking really weird for ten minutes, remove and wipe away your glitter with ease. It sounds weird, but it works.

This whole set is fantastic! I love the Black Shatter effect and how it looks. I can't help but use other colors I have underneath it!

I can't wait for the Pirates like with it's Silver Shatter, thats going to be so cool!
